Goals & Purpose
MONEY BARONS is the name of our after-school business/entrepreneur
club. Its goal is to educate students about money, finance and
entrepreneurship. During the course of the school year, students will learn
about wealth creation, budgeting, investing, stocks, credit cards, taxes, real
estate, etc. They will learn through interactive and hands-on activities. They
will also create a start-up business, develop their own customized business and
marketing plans and build a website to promote their products or services.
Students will learn practical aspects of successful business operations and
what it takes to make it in the competitive workplace.
Financial education for primary and secondary students is one of the most important life lessons for today's youth. Students urgently need to learn about business and entrepreneurship so that they can manage money successfully and invest it wisely. They also need to be financially literate at an early age so they can avoid costly mistakes, take advantage of opportunities, and be prepared to handle all types of situations they face in life. Among the skills students learn as entrepreneurs and businesspeople are resourcefulness, planning, discipline, cooperation, and strategic decision making. As adults, we owe it to our children to give them every opportunity we can to become successful in life.
Money skills are essential now more than ever in today's world to compete in the global marketplace and to flourish in the current economy.
